Our Impact Through the Years

Since its first outing in 2006, Spring Fling Golf Thing has raised more than $350,000 in support of families and causes within the workers’ compensation community.

Our contributions have included:

One of our most meaningful accomplishments was the creation of a scholarship at the University of Pittsburgh in memory of Eric Hauser, who passed away in 2020. This scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving general studies student from either Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania, where Eric grew up, or Central Ohio, where he spent his adult life. Each year, the University of Pittsburgh awards a $5,000 scholarship, and Spring Fling Golfing replenishes the fund annually to maintain its $25,000 scholarship corpus.

Spring Fling Golfing has also built a strong partnership with Kids’ Chance of Ohio, another 501(c)(3) organization with a closely aligned mission. Kids’ Chance of Ohio provides college stipends to dependents of workers who have been killed on the job or declared permanently and totally disabled. In the last year, Spring Fling Golfing funded an additional $5,000 annual scholarship through Kids’ Chance of Ohio for one deserving student throughout their undergraduate education.

These contributions reflect our ongoing commitment to serving the Ohio workers’ compensation community and creating lasting support for families in need.
